You can compensate by using a lighter ammo. Depends of course how much the speed is reduced. Without a chrony this is tough, but Id certainly like to reduce the. I expected to see a POI change, but maybe I wouldn't unless shooting it out at further distances.? my Fx Revolution Id like to make my Sportsman HV my backyard hunting rifle.
Would I see a POI change at ~17 yards by reducing the the hammer spring tension (allen head screw) by 2 1/2 full turns? I can't back it off anymore than that because the stock is in the way and won't allow me to. Quote from: xschug3 on June 13, 2013, 10:17:26 AM -rkr- thanks for the help. I expected to see a POI change, but maybe I wouldn't unless shooting it out at further distances.? You could also try softer hammer spring as an easy way of reducing the power as it doesn't require taking the breech of the gun. There's a limit how much that does and if it's not enough for you, I'd suggest using smaller transfer port to further restrict the power. Reducing the hammer spring tension will reduce your power and give you more shots / fill. Without a chrony this is tough, but I'd certainly like to reduce the power of this gun so that I can get more shots and I'm not putting holes in my fence when pellets blow through the yellow beaks and HOSP. I do know that I was consistently spitting pellets at 860fps.Īm I doing this right? :-\ Counter-clockwise to decrease spring tension and reduce fpe? Would I see a POI change at 17 yds? I don't have a chronograph so I'm not able to check my fps. I took some target shots in my basement at 17 yards and the POI did not change at all by turning it counter clockwise. I backed the Allen bolt off 2 1/2 turns (counter-clockwise) to see what effect that had. Which means I'd like to tune it down to around ~12-14fpe instead of ~26fpe which is where it is now. Now on the accuracy department it does extremely well. It has 1/2 unf threads to add a moderator, although there's no need as it's very quiet already. It could do 25 fpe for about 20 shots, but I rather have the shot count. I have it tuned at 15 fpe for about 45 shots before it falls off pressure. This beauty has an out of tube Huma regulator. The stock looks good but needs to be oiled up to look great. The bullpup kit is a prototype from the Guntunning guys. Also I’ll be ordering a cheek piece from airgunbuyer or maddog stocks.
